Cocoa Chia Shake

This is a ter­rific energy drink that will load you up with nutri­ents pre or post run.

Cocoa Chia Shake

Ingre­di­ents
16 oz soy milk (I use Silk)
1 banana
1/4 cup frozen berries (boy­sen­ber­ries or blue­ber­ries are really good)
1/2 Tbs chia seeds (or 3 Tbs chia gel*)
1 Tbs soy pro­tein (I use Whole Foods  Soy Pro­tein with Spir­ulina)
1 tsp bak­ing cocoa (I pre­fer Green & Black Organic)
1/4 tsp cin­na­mon
dash of nut­meg
dash of car­da­mon
dash of ginger

Instruc­tions
Mix all but mint in blender, pour, and gar­nish with mint.

*To make chia gel, use a ratio of 9 to 1 – nine times liq­uid to the amount of chia seeds (chia seeds can hold nine times their weight of liq­uid). Let sit for at least 15–30 mins., though to get the full ben­e­fit of all  the enzymes locked in the seeds, let sit for 12 hours.
