Something Different

This blog is work­ing out well for me. I enjoy how it pro­vides me with an out­let to write – some­thing I am re-realizing I quite enjoy – gives me some­thing to design and craft myself, and lets me log my learn­ings and thoughts about run­ning and life in a cen­tral loca­tion. It is becom­ing a use­ful tool for me as I travel on my quest. I also enjoy know­ing that oth­ers are read­ing my blog and that they find it help­ful. As I’ve got­ten into run­ning, espe­cially ultra trail run­ning, it’s hit home just how badly I was in need of a hobby. For some­thing entirely dif­fer­ent to work. A lot of what I do for my job is enjoy­able – some­thing that I would find myself want­ing to do in my ‘spare time.’ How­ever, I now under­stand the impor­tance of focus­ing my energy on some­thing that is for pure, per­sonal enjoy­ment. In the immor­tal words of Monty Python, “And now for some­thing entirely dif­fer­ent” (said with British accent, of course).
